In the Licensure History section of the FCCPT application, the "Select Country" field is only used to collect information about countries where a professional license, registration, or similar authorization is required to practice physical therapy.
Some countries do not have a licensure or registration system for physical therapists. In those countries, an individual's physical therapy degree itself confers the legal ability to practice, and no separate professional license is issued.
For example, India does not require physical therapists to obtain a separate license or registration to practice. Because there is no licensing authority to verify, India and similar countries are not included in the "Select Country" drop-down list in the Licensure History section of the FCCPT application.
If your country is not listed, it may be because:
- Physical therapists in that country are permitted to practice based on their educational qualifications alone.
- There is no national or regional licensing authority that issues licenses or registrations to physical therapists.
- FCCPT does not require licensure verification from that country because no licensure or registration process exists.
What Should I Do?
If your country is not listed and you were eligible to practice physical therapy based on your degree without obtaining a license or registration, you do not need to enter licensure information for that country.
Continue completing the remainder of your application and provide all other required documentation.
